We are just 2 days away from the latest Jillian Harris X Joe Fresh launch, and one of my favourite things about this launch is that we are giving back to the local Okanagan community. As many of you may know, our family has been struggling with mental health illness off and on for nearly my entire life. I say family because if you have a loved one who is experiencing a mental health crisis, you will know that it affects the entire family and support system. In honour of our fourth collaboration together, the Joe Fresh Team and I have partnered with the Okanagan Mental Health Services Society, a not-for-profit organization that understands the many challenges people with mental illness face. Two of the most difficult challenges are finding and maintaining employment in a world that still has misgivings and misconceptions about mental illness and finding a place to call home that offers support, acceptance, and comfort. Together, we have reinvested $20,000 in the OMHSS to help those that struggle with serious and persistent mental health challenges by providing supportive housing and therapeutic work.
